19th-21st July, Condover Hall, Shropshire
Last weekend, ISB Campus held its second outdoor activity weekend at Condover Hall near Shrewsbury. It was an exciting, action-packed and spiritual weekend where we enjoyed a range of fun activities alongside spiritual reflections and reminders.
We arrived at the centre on Friday, which consisted of a picturesque mansion surrounded by gardens, woodlands, a lake and dedicated activity sites. Without a doubt, the highlight of the activities from the next day was the raft-building activity, where we attempted to navigate the lake on precariously assembled rafts. Naturally, some of us slipped off of the raft, though this
was part of all the fun! Jacob’s ladder also proved entertaining as we ascended the spaced-out logs in pairs using a variety of unique and innovative methods.
Later that day, we sat by a nice cosy campfire and took part in a spiritual Qur’an reflection circle, though due to the rain, this had to be continued indoors, but not before desperately roasting marshmallows in the dying flames.
On the last day after our final outdoor activity, we heard from our mentors in the Q&A panel as they shared myriad gems of wisdom, adding to the spiritual gems shared in the reminders given throughout the weekend by attendees.
Finally, before everyone left to go home, some went on a final stop to hike in the stunning Carding Mill Valley, which made for a beautiful end to the beautiful weekend.
