Last week ISB campus ran our October masterclass – this time with the theme of Purification of the Soul. We were so honoured to have Sheikh Fazal and Sheikh Shafi with us to explore the nature of the Nafs, the importance of this topic for a Muslim, illnesses that may occur within it, and ways to prevent or cure them. As a member of the planning committee it was so wonderful to see people engaging so readily, with conversations spilling over into breaks, lunch and dinner.
Alhamdulilah thanks to all of the generous donations raised from the bake (and samosa) sale, we managed to raise £164 for the Samir foundation, which will help to provide healthcare support on the ground in Gaza insha’Allah.
Campus events are designed and run by young people, creating an environment that feels so welcoming. I have only been to one ISB event in the past, but it is so easy to feel at home and comfortable with everyone no matter where you are in life or deen. I’m proud of the fact I could help organise this event, grateful to every member of the planning committee and excited for the next one!
