Summer 2021 Competitions

Golden Threads - Sharing stories of my family past
(For those aged between 16 years and 27 years)
Do you have an amazing story about your family which relates to their past travels, ancestral origins or about something amazing they have done in the past?
You can enter the competition by submitting your entry in either a short essay (max 1000 words), a piece of poetry (max 200 words), a photo journal with supporting text (max 20 photos) or a 3-minute video with narration.
Expressing Islamic beauty through artwork
(For those aged between 8 years and 16 years)
Do you want to demonstrate your Islamic faith through your creative skills by either producing a painting, a drawing, a sculpture, a piece of craftwork or a sewing item? Pick your favourite art medium(s).
Paintings (Acrylic or water-based paints can be used) or drawings (pencil or crayons) must be produced on canvas or paper (max 50cm x 40cm in portrait layout). Sculpture or craftwork should be made from recycled material if possible (max 30cm high and 20cm wide). The sewing item must be made from recycled fabric if possible.
You can submit an entry for more than one of the art categories.

An expert panel will be judging all the entries for both their vision, creative skills, and beauty. Only fully completed entries will be accepted.
The Winners and runners up in each competition category will receive a special prize.
Closing date for the competition is 4pm on Friday 27th August 2021.
