Fitrana (zakat ul fitr)

Fitrana is a charitable donation of food that must be given before Eid prayer, before the end of the month of Ramadan, for the love of Allah (SWT). Fitrana must also be given by every self-supporting adult Muslim who has food in excess of their needs, on behalf of themselves and their dependents.

The Islamic Society of Britain runs a number of zakat eligible projects:

  • Feeding the homeless and vulnerable project
  • Interfaith activities
  • Islam awareness initiatives.

Please consider any one of our projects, when making your Fitrana donations we approach the end of the blessed month of Ramadan.
